Off The Clock's Grand Opening Is Friday: The Rooftop, the Vault and the Bourbon Lockers

Off The Clock's grand opening is Friday, Aug. 21, on the second floor of The Assembly above the Social Food Hall. GM Caleb Powers walked us through the whole space first: the rooftop nobody knew was there, the private tasting room, the bourbon lockers, and the entrance you will get wrong.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — The second floor of The Assembly sat mostly empty for years. It held storage for a few different businesses. The people who bought the building joked about calling it the attic.

An earlier version of this story gave the wrong opening information. Off The Clock’s grand opening is Friday, Aug. 21. Corrected here and in our social posts.

It opens as Off The Clock on Friday, Aug. 21.

That is the grand opening, on the second floor of The Assembly. Off The Clock's Facebook page is the place to check anything else before you go.

The new bar sits directly above the Social Food Hall in downtown Elizabethtown, and general manager Caleb Powers said the idea has been in the works essentially since Social opened.

"It has been in the thought process since Social," Powers said. "So it's been a long time coming on this one."

Powers gave Hardin Local's Nate Bryan a full walkthrough of the space before the doors opened. Off The Clock is built around elevated cocktails, curated bourbon and small bites — owners Todd Davis and his wife, Cameron, built it for adults only, inside a building that is otherwise as family-oriented as it gets.

"Where Social is so family-oriented, being able to house something that is dedicated strictly just for the adults within the same building just makes a world of difference," Powers said.

Start with how you get in, because it is not the way most people will guess.

The entrance is not the one you would guess.
