Summary

In this week's marquee segment, Phil Taul welcomed Samantha "Sam" Sansone, Sales & Outreach Coordinator at Malibu Jack's Etown, live on the broadcast to announce the venue's first-ever Family Glow Night on Thursday, June 11. The pitch was bigger than one night, though: with school out and summer heat coming, Malibu Jack's is positioning itself as the indoor, climate-controlled family destination for the whole season.

Glow Night is the headline event — lights off, a live DJ, glow everything — and tickets are on sale now at malibujacksetown.com.

"School's out, it's about to be a hundred degrees, and I want to talk about the spot a lot of Hardin County families are going to be living at this summer," Phil Taul said, bringing Samantha Sansone on live from Malibu Jack's Etown. Sam, the venue's Sales & Outreach Coordinator, joined the broadcast to introduce the first-ever Family Glow Night — and, for anyone who's never walked in the door, to lay out what Malibu Jack's actually is.

The short version: a massive indoor, climate-controlled family entertainment center. Go-karts, laser tag, duckpin bowling, mini golf, arcade games, rides, and Bounce Beach for the younger kids — "it caters from toddler all the way up to your grandparents," Sam said. The climate control is the summer selling point: when it's 100 degrees out or raining and the kids are climbing the walls at home, they can climb the (padded) walls somewhere else. Summer hours begin June 1, with the park opening at 11 AM on weekdays and noon on Sundays. Sam's tip for families with little ones who want to dodge the crowd: come right at open.

Then the main event. Family Glow Night runs Thursday, June 11, from 6 to 9 PM — and Sam is clearly proud of it. "It's taken two months in the making. It's the first of its kind," she said, noting she pitched the concept to corporate and other Malibu Jack's locations are now planning their own. The night turns the lights off and turns everything else up: a live DJ (James Hummel, who Phil noted he's known since childhood), three giant balloon arches, photo ops, and airbrush work by Eddie Milburn. "I wanted to bring something different," Sam said. "It's all about the experience."

Tickets come in tiers and are intentionally family-friendly. General Admission is $25 and includes a goodie bag; VIP is $35 and adds swag, a light-up water bottle, and a meal ticket; kids four and under are $12; and parents who aren't participating can come in and enjoy the atmosphere for free. The dress code is simple: neon, glow paint, or a white or black tee. Capacity is limited, so Sam recommends buying ahead at malibujacksetown.com. And tying it all together, Hardin Local is giving away a $50 Malibu Jack's gift card — comment "Malibu Jacks" on the show's streams to enter, with the winner drawn live on the June 9 broadcast, two days before Glow Night.
