Let's say the important part up front: Hardin Local is not ending. Only the day moved. This was the first episode of Hardin Local Weekly on its new Sunday night slot, 7 PM Eastern, and the crew opened by thanking everyone for genuinely changing a habit, trading Tuesday afternoons for Sunday nights.
Rachel Brantingham is off this week and back next week, so Grafton Sizemore took the host chair for the night, with Phil Taul and Scott Lucas running things alongside him. Before the regular segments got going, Phil and Nate Bryan walked through the new Hardin Local high school sports portal, a free high school sports hub with scores, schedules and a pick 'em contest. The crew also opened with a first Sunday night icebreaker, everybody sharing the one thing that always waits until Sunday evening to get done.
From there it was a full show. Britten McDowell gave a restaurant a second chance and came away impressed. Nate Bryan covered O'Charley's closing and what comes next for its Elizabethtown spot. Jon O'Brien laid out a stacked week ahead. And Grafton closed the night with Money Moves and a lesson worth remembering: sometimes the smartest financial move is the one you do not make.
