• Ballot facts. Name, party, office and ballot position come from the Hardin County Clerk’s candidate list for the November 3, 2026 general election.
• The interview. The video is Hardin Local’s recorded interview with the candidate. If there is no interview, the page says why: the candidate registered and the interview has not happened yet, or the candidate was invited and did not register.
• The AI-generated summary. Hardin Local’s AI system wrote the short summary using only the candidate’s own words from their interview transcript, and we checked it against that transcript. AI summaries are short by design. We sent each summary to the candidate. Each one is labeled with whether the candidate has approved it. Some candidates replaced it with their own words or added to it; those parts are labeled and appear exactly as the candidate wrote them.
• Candidate statements. Anything labeled as submitted by the candidate or the campaign, or in the candidate’s own words, is the candidate’s statement, not Hardin Local’s. Anything the candidate wrote appears in full, as submitted; where we corrected an obvious typo, the label says so.
• Same treatment for everyone. Every candidate in every contested race got the same email request, the same deadline and the same page layout, including candidates we did not interview. An empty section means we have no approved content for it, nothing more.
• Rules for candidate content. Nothing about opponents, and statements must be true.
