The Lord’s Supper Soup Kitchen

Hello Hardin County! My husband Terriance Hamilton and I, Joyce Hamilton, would love to share with you what the Lord is doing in Radcliff KY.

I, Joyce, retired from the US Army, 22 Years Active Duty on 31 Dec 2007. In April 2013 I had a dream prompted by the Holy Spirit to feed hungry and homeless in Radcliff KY. It was a feeling that was heavy on my heart, and I knew it was time to talk to my husband about it finally. I shared with my husband early morning before he was about to go to Physical Training, and he immediately said, “Go back to sleep God didn’t tell me that.” It was due to him still being Active Duty and feeling this mission will be impossible. It took my husband one month to come in line with the Vision and this is when we began to birth out The Lord’s Supper Soup Kitchen with our ribbon cutting set for 12 August 2013.

We knew there was a tremendous need because we went door to door to low income, poverty-stricken neighborhoods and prayed with families and individuals. This is when we saw face to face a tremendous need. The Lord’s Supper Soup Kitchen was to be a place where we can help feed naturally and spiritually, clothe, and provide many types of assistance through the Grace of God. The Lord’s Supper Soup Kitchen is an absolute JUDGEMENT-FREE ENVIRONMENT! We welcome all those that are hungry or homeless to come eat and worship with us. We sing Gospel music the entire time they are eating and our Volunteers gracefully serve the food to our Patrons while we are singing.

We are more than a soup kitchen. Since 2014, we have been blessed to provide large “Back to School” community events for about 4,000 people and families at the Radcliff City Park as well as organized coat drives. We have had multiple “mobile pantries” of 8,000 to 9,000 pounds of FREE foods and produce provided from Feeding America for the Radcliff Community. Each year during the holiday seasons, The Lord’s Supper Soup Kitchen delivers about 150 Thanksgiving boxes with turkeys and all the trimmings to families, as well as providing a nice, delicious Thanksgiving meal to over 100 patrons in our building. For Christmas, we not only serve hundreds of patrons but provide educational toys for children and toiletry items to adults totalling around 200 people.

We have been so blessed to be able to carry out God’s Mission and many lives have been changed positively since opening. At this point, we have already outgrown one location and a local family has provided a larger building for us to operate out of. However, the property needs many renovations. We are seeking the help of the community so that we can continue to feed and serve our Patrons in the Beautiful City of Radcliff KY.
