Yoga By Ntouch Is Coming Downtown
You might find it hard to keep track of all the new business announcements in Downtown Elizabethtown. We are excited to announce another business that will be launching in the downtown area. Ntouch Salon and Spa will be bringing their yoga studio to 117 West Dixie Ave, Elizabethtown, Ky 42701 (next store to Clagett Photography & across the street from our office (Taul Solutions & Hardin Local). They will be offering an array of Yoga classes including Basic, Beginner, Vinyasa, Chair Yoga, and Hot Yoga to name a few!
The current location of Ntouch will remain open and focus on the salon and spa aspects of the business. Ntouch is an “Aveda Concept Salon” which means that they follow the Aveda brand techniques. Per their website, “Aveda salon professionals are continually educated on the latest trends and techniques to transform your look with styles inspired by the fashion runways from around the world. Our spa professionals also undergo regular training to stay informed of latest advancements in body and skin care so they can practice the art of healing, rejuvenating and refreshing the mind body and spirit.”
When asking owner, Laura Boozer about why she chose this spot, she mentioned that she and the Lead Yoga Instructor, Elizabeth McNeil have had their eye on this specific building for a while. Laura said that she was looking for a spot that had sentimental meaning to her just like her other location at the “old Coca-Cola plant.” She wanted it to be somewhere that has deep roots and childhood memories while growing up in Hardin County. Laura was also wanting a place with exposed brick, natural lighting, parking and an outside area for sunrise yoga in the mornings – the future Walker Square. It is also important to her that passers-by will be able to look inside the windows and see people doing yoga inside. The goal is to allow those who have never done yoga to know that it will make positive body changes and not some kind of “hippie” exercise.
Ntouch has been offering Yoga classes for 4 years and according to Laura who is a Licensed Massage Therapist, it is one of the best things you can do for you body. She stressed to me the overall wellness that a person can achieve by regularly doing yoga, “correctly.” Ntouch is a certified “Yoga Alliance Registered School” and Elizabeth McNeil is a certified “Teacher Trainer” and a Physical Therapy Assistant. Being part of the “Yoga Alliance” is not only an accreditation to their program, but it also engages in the “volunteer” requirements that Laura has all of her employees participate in. These ladies have been a part of so many local and global charities, that Laura surprised herself as she was naming them off to me. Being a part of the community and contributing to those in need is a big part of her business model. She said that annually, they donate around $40,000 a year to various charities. Many of the charities are local – Youth Sports, Schools, Mission Hope for Kids and Hardin Memorial Health Wellness Fair to name a few. While others are national or global – Operation Christmas Child, Iron Man, Children with Hair Loss and did I forget to mention that she volunteered at the 2016 Rio Olympics?
Laura said she hopes that the Yoga Studio will be done by the first of 2017. After all of the papers are signed this afternoon, she hopes the city will be able to start evaluations soon. So let’s all welcome Ntouch to our ever-growing downtown community!
