Meth DUI

Yesterday shortly after 3 PM, An Elizabethtown Police Unit found a vehicle that had run off the roadway on the ramp from the US 31 Bypass to Patriot Parkway. The driver was identified as Kenneth Alley age 28 from Louisville. Alley admitted to police units that he had smoked meth earlier in the day. Alley seemed heavily impaired, and was unable to complete a field sobriety test. A baggie containinged suspected methamphetamine residue was found inside the vehicle. Soon after police made contact, Alley began to show possible signs of a drug overdose, and was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by EMS. Later at the hospital Alley admitted to ingesting approximately 2 grams of meth that he had in the vehicle with him in an attempt to conceal the illegal substance from the police making contact with him. It was also discovered that Alley had taken the vehicle he was driving from an acquaintance in Louisville without permission. Alley was charged with DUI, Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
