LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — One of the places in the Louisville area hardest hit by Friday’s snowfall was Elizabethtown.

The area was covered by about nine inches of snow as a result of the snowstorm.

On Saturday, there were a few flurries but no significant accumulation.

Snow removal crews worked diligently to treat roads and clear snow.

The snowstorm caused several area businesses to close on Friday.

While main roads have pretty much been cleared, officials say some neighborhoods and back roads in Elizabethtown are still a concern.

Kentucky State Police at the Elizabethtown Post say about 40 vehicles in the area slid off the road on Friday, though there were no serious injuries. Police say the total number of accidents was less than the number officials initially expected.
