Hardin County Sheriff’s Department investigating homicide

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide on Wooldridge Ferry Road.

Sheriff John Ward said Hans Moeller, 51, was found shot to death at the home around 6 p.m. Friday.

Ward said Moeller’s girlfriend found him on the porch when she got home from work and called 911.

Moeller was originally from Germany, but had lived in the area for about 15 years, Ward said.

The sheriff said it was possibly a home invasion, but there are no signs of forced entry.

Moeller didn’t have a job and was a loner, investigators said.

Investigators said they don’t think the crime was random, but they don’t know why anyone would want to kill Moeller.
