KSP Investigates Fatal Collision In Meade Co.

Muldraugh, KY. (January 8, 2019) – Kentucky State Police Post 4 Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision in Meade Co. Monday afternoon. On January 7, 2019 at approximately 5:20 P.M. EST, KSP Post 4 received a call of a two-vehicle collision on US31W (Dixie Highway) in Meade County. The preliminary investigation revealed that Osiris Alnur (18) of Shelby Town, MI was traveling north on US31W in a 2016 Chrysler 200. Judy Smith (58) of Irvington was traveling south in a 2016 Kia Forte on US31W. For unknown reasons Alnur crossed the centerline into southbound lane and into the path of Smith’s vehicle.
Smith was flown to University of Louisville Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Alnur was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The affected portion of US31W was closed in order allow troopers to investigate the collision. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene the Muldraugh Police Department, Muldraugh Fire Department, Meade County EMS, and Hardin County EMS. The collision is still under investigation by Trooper James Ford.
